Overview — your business at a glance
What this screen is for. The first thing you see every morning: how your business is doing and what needs you next — six live numbers, a chart of your bookings, and what's next on your calendar. How to get there. Signing in lands you here. From anywhere else, tap Overview at the top of the sidebar. What every button does The page itself: Start new inspection — the green button at the top. It opens the same New-inspection window the Inspections tab uses (see the Inspections doc). The six number tiles — Revenue collected (paid + partial) · Clients · Referring agents · Upcoming bookings · Inspections active · Reports delivered. Every tile is a link: tap Revenue and you're on Payments; tap Clients and you're on the client list. Each number agrees with the page it links to. Bookings by status — a bar chart of your bookings in plain words: green bars are confirmed or completed, yellow are requested or rescheduled, grey are cancelled or no-show. Hover a bar for the exact count. Next on the calendar — up to five upcoming bookings: address and client, the date and time, and a status badge. Tap a row to open its inspection (or the Schedule, if the job hasn't been started yet). View the full calendar → opens the Schedule. Cards and banners that appear only when they apply: "You've got a new inspection booking request" — a green card that shows when someone booked on your website. Tap it to review and confirm the booking on your Schedule. Its count matches the green badge on the Schedule tab. "Your account is read-only." — shows when your subscription has lapsed (a payment didn't go through, you paused, you cancelled, or a checkout never finished). Everything you've done stays readable; tap Reactivate to pick up where you left off. Your data is safe. The trial banner, the "Get set up" card, and the confirm-your-email banner are covered in Getting started. The sidebar (on every page): The tabs, top to bottom: Overview · Inspections · Payments · Schedule · Marketing · Messages · Clients · Agents · Business · Support · Settings, then Sign out. Your firm's name sits under the HomeRecon.AI mark. Team members see only the tabs their role can use. The chevron collapses the menu to icons and back; your choice is remembered. On a phone the menu opens over the page and closes itself after you pick a tab. Badges: a green number on Schedule means booking requests are waiting for a yes; a red number on Messages means leads or mail need you. No number means nothing is waiting. Sign out returns you to the sign-in page. If photos or notes are still syncing from this device, it asks first — "Stay signed in" or "Sign out anyway" — and never throws anything away. The header (on every page): Test payments — a small pill that tells you card payments are running in test mode, so no real money moves yet. It disappears when live payments switch on. Subscribe now — only while you're on the free trial; opens the subscribe window. The Moon/Sun button switches light and dark mode. Your choice is remembered; if you never choose, the app follows your computer's setting. Your initials open My settings — your name, email, and password. The App Guide sparkle replays the 60-second tour any time (the tour itself is described in Getting started). The green pill, bottom-right: the HomeRecon Genie — your assistant on every page. It tucks away while you scroll and comes back at the top, and it never covers the last row of a list. What you can ask it is covered in the Genie doc. Common questions "Can I tap the numbers?" Yes — every tile is a link to its own section. "Do the numbers match the pages they link to?" Yes. One note: Reports delivered counts reports you delivered — a report that's locked but not yet sent isn't in that number. "Why does my page say read-only?" Your subscription lapsed. Tap Reactivate — it takes you to Business → Subscription. Nothing you made has gone anywhere. "Why is there a green number on Schedule?" Booking requests from your website are waiting for you to confirm or decline them. "How do I switch to dark mode?" The Moon/Sun button, top-right. "My business name is wrong in the sidebar." It comes from Business info — change it there (Business → Business info) and the sidebar follows. "How do I sign out?" The last row of the sidebar. If your phone still has unsynced photos, it checks with you first so nothing is lost. "What's the green button in the corner?" The HomeRecon Genie. Tap it and ask in plain words — "book Sarah for Tuesday at 9," "show me unpaid invoices." Good to know While numbers load you see grey placeholders, never zeros — a "0" on this page is a real zero. The six tiles load together. If your connection drops, the whole row shows one plain "can't reach HomeRecon" card rather than six broken numbers; the chart and calendar keep working on their own. A mistyped address inside the app shows a proper "Page not found" with a button back to the dashboard — never a blank page. "Test payments" is honest, not broken — it means the card rail is in test mode until live payments are switched on at launch.
