Service areas — the towns and ZIPs you drive to
What this screen is for. Service areas are the towns and ZIP codes you drive to. They decide where your website says you work, which city pages Google sees, and whether a booking gets a travel fee. Add a city or a county and we fill in the ZIPs. How to get there. Sidebar → Business → Service areas. (The Website Studio's Areas page mirrors this list read-only.) What every button does Each area tile — the name, then "WA · 6 ZIPs · $25 travel fee," with a City page on badge when its page is published. Tap the tile to edit. On the footer: City page on my website — the switch that publishes that area's own landing page (like /inspections/everett) — how buyers searching "home inspector Everett" find you. Off really takes the page off the internet. Write your own words › — the page's headline, a paragraph, and what Google shows, each optional (blank keeps the good built-in words). Add a service area — a city, a county, or your own list of ZIP codes. Inside the sheet: What you call this area · State · "Add a city or county — we fill in the ZIPs" (type two letters; your own state's towns rank first; a tap merges in the whole ZIP list) · the ZIP chips (✕ to remove, or add one by hand) · Travel fee ($) — added to bookings in this area; leave it empty for no fee. The helper draws the line that matters at tax time: the travel fee is what your client pays — the Mileage tab's log is what you deduct. Remove this area — confirms first: it comes off your website's Areas page, and its city page is unpublished. Everywhere else — the fixed catch-all: a booking from outside every area you listed gets this fee. Change the fee › edits it; the row itself can't be deleted, so no address ever falls through a crack. Common questions "How do I add the whole county at once?" Type the county in the city-or-county box — one tap pulls in every ZIP. "How do travel fees reach a booking?" Automatically — a booking whose ZIP is in an area gets that area's fee in its total, right on your booking page. "How do I get a page for each town I serve?" Flip City page on my website on the area's tile. Write your own words › makes it yours. "What if someone books from outside all my areas?" The Everywhere else fee applies — set it to what the long drive is worth, or leave it free. "Travel fee vs mileage — what's the difference?" The fee is client money on the invoice; the mileage log is your tax deduction. Different tabs, both automatic. Good to know The ZIP lists come from GeoNames.org (the attribution is on the sheet). Your site's Areas page, its footer list, and each city page all read this one list — edit here, published everywhere.
