What this screen is for. Two jobs in plain words: your free HomeRecon address (yourfirm.homerecon.ai), which is live now, and — if you own one — your own web address pointed at your site, which is coming soon. What every button does Your web address (the free one): Choose your address — type the name; it cleans itself as you go (letters, numbers, dashes) in front of the fixed .homerecon.ai. It has to be unique across HomeRecon — if it's taken, saving tells you plainly. Save address — saves it. The *.homerecon.ai wildcard is live, so the preview reads "Your free HomeRecon address is live now — …" with an openable link, and the saved note confirms "your site answers at … now." Custom domain (an address you own, like `inspections.yoursite.com`): Coming soon. The verify-and-padlock backend isn't switched on yet, so this whole section is labelled coming soon and the Add domain box is disabled — shown, not hidden, so you can see the feature is on its way. An amber note says it plainly: custom domains are coming soon; we turn this on once secure hosting for your own address is ready, and your free HomeRecon address keeps carrying your site the whole time. When it does switch on, you'll add a domain here and paste two settings at your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, and friends) — a TXT record that proves you control the domain and a CNAME that points it at your HomeRecon site — and each domain's card will show its status and the padlock once it's live. Common questions "Can my website be at my own address (mycompany.com)?" Soon — custom domains are coming, and the add box switches on when secure hosting for your own address is ready. Until then your free yourfirm.homerecon.ai address is live and carries the site. "It says my address is already taken." HomeRecon addresses are unique across every firm — try a variation. "Is my free address really live?" Yes — yourfirm.homerecon.ai answers today; the preview and saved note both link straight to it. "Does my free address stop working when my own domain goes live?" No — it keeps working alongside, always. Good to know A root domain (yoursite.com with nothing in front) can't use the pointer record — the page tells you what your provider offers instead, or use a name like inspections.yoursite.com. An address that never verifies isn't held hostage — unverified domains are forgotten after 14 days, and you can re-add any time.
