Business — your firm's home base
What this screen is for. Set up and run your firm — your business profile, prices, service area, payments, subscription, legal, and team, all in one place. This doc covers the hub and its first tab, Business info; the other seven tabs each have their own doc. How to get there. Sidebar → Business. Eight tabs: Business info · Services & prices · Service areas · Mileage · Payments · Subscription · Legal · Team (Team shows for the owner). The tab you're on is in the web address, so bookmarks and refreshes hold. What every button does Business profile: Business name (required — it prints on every report and your site; the sidebar updates the moment you save) · Legal name · License # · Business phone (formats as you type; it prints on reports) · Business email — where your booking alerts and client replies go (not your sign-in email) · Timezone — every booking time is shown and scheduled in this zone. Save changes — greyed until the name is filled and the email and phone read right; a green "Saved" confirms. Business address: Street address suggests as you type; picking one also stores the map point your drive times and mileage log run on. Use my location fills from GPS ("double-check the house number"). "Where do you usually leave from?" — My office or My home (a home address you add is used only to work out drive time and mileage — never shown to anyone, never on your website). Not cosmetic: your Schedule's drive padding and the slots your booking page offers start from here. "My mailing address is different" — where we send news, updates, and any legal documents. The mirrors: Your bookable hours (read-only, with Edit hours → Schedule → Availability) and Your logo & brand (a pointer to Marketing → My Website → Brand). One home per fact. The three report switches: The Ask List — "Let my clients build an Ask List." Your clients can turn your report into a repair request for the other side — their own words and your finding numbers, never your report wording. Off means no client can start one until you turn it back on; anything already built stays exactly where it is. A second switch, "Email me when one is created," keeps you ahead of the listing agent's phone call. Budget Genie — "Show a budget on my findings." Puts a plain-English repair BUDGET on each finding, priced from free public data. Off means no budgets are written until you turn it back on. Code references — "Add code references to my reports." The firm-wide master switch for building-code notes. Off means your reports add none at all — none is generated, none prints — until you turn it back on. The finer control (which states, which drawings) lives on the Code settings page, linked from the card; the same master switch sits at the top of that page too. Common questions "Where do I change my business name / phone / license?" Right here — they flow onto every report you send. "Which email gets my booking alerts?" The Business email on this page. Your sign-in email lives under My settings. "Why does my Schedule pad drive time from the wrong place?" Check Where do you usually leave from — office or home — and that the address has been picked from the suggestions (that's what stores the map point). "How do I turn off the dollar figures on findings?" The Budget Genie switch, right on this page. Off — no budgets are written. "Can I stop clients building repair requests from my reports?" The Ask List switch. Off blocks new ones server-side; existing ones stay readable. "I don't want any building-code notes on my reports — how do I turn them all off?" The Code references switch, right on this page (or the master switch at the top of Code settings). Off — no report adds one, and none is generated, until you turn it back on. "Where are my hours edited?" Schedule → Availability — the card here is an honest mirror with the jump link. Good to know Both switches default ON for every firm, and each reverts with a plain alert if a save ever fails — never a silent flip. Your timezone is set from your state at signup — a Washington firm starts on Pacific time. Change it here if your business runs on another clock. You can read every Ask List on its inspection's page — it's your client's document; only they can change what it says.
