Clients — everyone you've inspected for
What this screen is for. Your CRM — add a person in ten seconds, find them by half a name, tap to call, and email them a sign-in link to their own report portal. How to get there. Sidebar → Clients. What every button does New client — the green button. Name is the only required field; email, phone (it formats itself as you type), notes, and the mailing address are optional. Save stays grey until what's entered is valid. The address box suggests real addresses as you type — three letters in and your area's streets appear; one tap fills street, city, state, and ZIP. Find city, state & ZIP is the backstop when you typed it all yourself (several matches ask "Which one is it?"). A client's address is all-or-nothing: half an address is refused with a plain sentence rather than saved wrong. Search clients… — matches names, emails, phone digits, and any part of the address. The count reads "4 of 16" while filtering. Call / Email — one-tap links on every row that has them; a person with no contact info shows "—", never a dead button. The portal invite (the paper-plane icon) — one tap emails the client a magic link that lands them signed in to their report portal — no password to invent. The icon flips to a green check when it's sent. With no email on file it's disabled and asks you to add one. Edit — the same dialog, prefilled. Delete — a confirm first, then gone. Common questions "How do I add a client fast, mid-phone-call?" New client → type their name → Save. Everything else can wait. "How does my client get into their portal?" Tap the invite icon on their row. They get an email; the link signs them straight in, and they can set a password from inside if they want one. "Why won't it accept the phone number?" It wants a complete number with area code — "(208) 555-0134." It formats as you type; the message under the box says exactly this. "Can two people share an email?" No — one email, one person. If the email already belongs to another client or agent, a dialog names them and nothing is saved until you sort it out. "Where's the client's history — their inspections and invoices?" On the jobs themselves: search the address on Inspections or Payments. There's no per-person history page today. "How do I bring my client list over from my old software?" Settings → Import — covered in Import data. Good to know Notes show on the row but are edited in the dialog. The invite button politely refuses spam-taps — if you tap twice fast the mail service may make the second wait a minute. A moved client: when you retype just the street and use the lookup, check the city it lands — typing the city too re-anchors it. The dialog closes with the X (not Esc or a stray tap outside — deliberate, so a half-filled form isn't lost to a slip).
