Getting in — sign in, passwords, and the legal pages

What this screen is for. You bought a house — or you're the buyer's agent — and your inspector delivered the report through HomeRecon. This page covers the front door: signing in, fixing a password, and where the legal documents live. How to get there. Open the link in the email your inspector sent, or go straight to portal.homerecon.ai/report/portal/login. What every button does The sign-in page Email me a sign-in link — the first-time way in, and the easiest. Type your email and tap the button; we email you a link that signs you straight in, no password needed. You'll see "Check your inbox — the link signs you in." If you came from your delivery email, your address is already filled in — nothing sends until you tap. Have a password? Sign in — the lower form, for anyone who has set a password: email, password, Sign in, and you land on My Reports. Forgot password? — beside the Password label. We email you a reset link; open it, choose a new password (at least 8 characters, typed twice, with a show/hide eye), tap Update password, then Continue to your reports. Light / Dark — the theme switch at the top of the sign-in card. Once you're signed in, the same switch lives in the portal header. Powered by HomeRecon.AI — a small link to homerecon.ai. Your inspector runs their business on HomeRecon; the portal itself is HomeRecon's. The viewer's front page The address portal.homerecon.ai/report/ is a simple welcome page with a View the sample report button when a sample exists. If there's nothing to show, it says so plainly: "No shared reports here yet — open the report link your inspector sent you." Any web address the viewer doesn't recognize brings you back here rather than showing an error. The legal pages Every page has a quiet line at the bottom naming HomeRecon AI LLC with two links: Report Viewer Terms and Privacy Policy. Open either and its "The other documents" list is one tap from the other two — the Terms of Service and How HomeRecon uses AI. Each document shows its version and effective date at the top. The Report Viewer Terms page is the same full text you accept before a report first opens, readable any time, before or after. Common questions "I don't have a password — how do I get in?" You don't need one. Use Email me a sign-in link and open the link from your inbox. You can set a password later on your Account page if you want one. "I forgot my password." Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in page. The email link takes you to a page where you choose a new one. "My reset link says it expired." Those links are short-lived on purpose. Go back to the sign-in page and tap Forgot password? again for a fresh one. "It says 'This portal is for clients & agents.'" You signed in with an inspection-business account — that one belongs in the business dashboard, not here. Tap Back to sign in and use the email your inspector has on file for you. "It says 'No portal access.'" The portal doesn't recognize that email. Ask your inspector to resend your report invite — that's what connects your email to your reports. "Why does the page ask for my email in two places?" The top box emails you a sign-in link; the bottom box is for people who already have a password. Use whichever fits — both end up in the same place. "What's the difference between the Report Viewer Terms and my inspection agreement?" The Report Viewer Terms are between you and HomeRecon AI LLC, the software company, and cover reading reports in this viewer. Your inspection agreement is a separate contract with the inspection firm — that's the one you sign before your report unlocks. Good to know The "Check your inbox" message reads the same whether or not that email has an account — the sign-in page never confirms to a stranger which emails are registered. There are no Google/Apple sign-in buttons, on purpose. Your portal account is created when your inspector delivers your report, and the email link signs you in without any setup. If you're already signed in, the sign-in page skips itself and takes you to My Reports. On the public web address only the report viewer is reachable — the inspector's business dashboard is a separate, locked door.
